Defining the Customer Profile and Identifying Target Markets

Why You Need to Know Your Target Customers

The most basic precept in marketing and sales is the value of understanding who your customer is and what they want – then meeting those preferences better than the competition. To the extent that it’s possible, everything should flow from your understanding of the customer – the product design, the marketing messages, the price, the promotional strategies and the system through which the customer accesses the product.

Some funding restrictions will narrow the target buyer, or impose other development restrictions. Nonetheless, you will sell your homes faster if you know who your target buyers are and what they want, and tailor as much of your marketing and sales plan as possible to those characteristics.
